The video, titled “But if You Return, We Shall Returm," was released by the group’s affiliate in Iraq’s northern Nineveh province, various media outlets including the Wall Street Journal are reporting.
The video purportedly shows the the murder of 16 men by drowning some in a cage, decapitating others using explosives, and firing a grenade into a car.
The men killed are said to be "spies", and the video shows some of them “confessing” before the executions.
Militants are seen leading a group of men to a car and closing the doors, before firing a rocket-propelled grenade under the vehicle, setting it on fire.
A militant is later shown locking five men inside a metal cage, which is then lifted by a crane and submerged in a swimming pool. Two underwater cameras fixed to the outside of the cage show the men's deaths in the water.
Another set of seven victims are forced to talk on camera before being led out into a field.
There explosive cables are tied around all of their necks as they are forced to kneel in a line. The cables are then detonated, decapitating them.
